I have lived in Hainesport, New Jersey, with my husband for sixteen years, ever since leaving England. Our daughters, Becky and Lorna, both went to Hainesport School K through 8th grade, then on to Rancocas Valley RHS.
In 2008 I graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from Bennington College, VT, adding to the Masters of Chemical Engineering I obtained as a young woman in London. I taught in the Writing Program at Stockton University from 2012 to 2016 as an Adjunct (part time) Professor, and now teach in the English Department at Rowan College at Burlington County, also as an Adjunct. Adjunct Faculty are paid on a per course basis (~$2000 a course at RCBC), and get no benefits, but I love teaching and am excited to be able to give back to the young people of South Jersey. I also help my husband run an Import Consultancy business, Global Bridge LLC, based in Hainesport.
I am a published poet and translator whose books include Sisters & Courtesans (White Violet Press, 2014), Superheroes & Villanelles (Barefoot Muse Press, 2015), and The Selected Poems of Marceline Desbordes Valmore (Barefoot Muse Press, 2013).
In 2016 I decided to get involved in local government and ran for Hainesport Township Committee on a platform of truth and transparency, losing narrowly after a concerted smear campaign. You can read more about this experience on my blog.
A keen fitness enthusiast, I can often be found working out at LA Fitness in Mount Laurel, or walking my golden retriever, Sammy, and miniature schnauzer, Piper, around Hainesport. I enjoy travel, reading and following current affairs.
